Weaving Joy: 39 NAFA Participants Craft Custom Chunky Yarn Bags & 3D-Printed Charms!

Wide shot of a large group of participants at a NAFA workshop seated around long tables in a classroom setting, hand-weaving colorful chunky yarn bags with skeins of blue, yellow, and pink yarn visible

At the intersection of cozy textile design and modern fabrication lies something truly unique. In our latest workshop, 39 brilliant minds from NAFA joined us to explore this exact playground, merging classic hand-weaving with custom 3D printing.

Participants spent the first half of the session mastering the tension and structure required to build a sturdy, fashionable chunky yarn bag from scratch. Once the bases were woven to perfection, it was time to innovate. We debuted our custom-made, 3D-printed mechanical clicker ornaments, allowing the students to snap, build, and glue personalized typographic charms and tactile hardware onto their bags. The results were a beautiful testament to what happens when you give artistic students the right tools to customize their world. Take a look inside the workshop process, the tech behind our custom clickers, and the finished luxury pieces!
