We were deeply moved to spend a afternoon with the wonderful children at the Down Syndrome Association (Singapore) for a session of sensory-led creativity.
Exploring the 'Hybrid' nature of everyday materials, we moved beyond traditional brushes and introduced the children to the unique textures of root vegetables. Using carrots, lotus roots, and potatoes as natural stamps, the children explored patterns, colors, and the tactile feel of organic shapes.
This workshop was designed to prioritize sensory engagement and self-expression over rigid structure. Watching the children discover the hidden 'stars' and 'wheels' inside common vegetables was a reminder that art is a universal language. It was a joyful, colorful session that perfectly embodies our mission to make the 'Sanctuary' experience accessible to every individual.
